1900 Park Fare is Reopening

Big news has been announced in the past couple of weeks regarding Walt Disney World Dining. 1900 Park Fare is reopening at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. People have been asking for this restaurant to re-open since COVID closures. Read the rest of this blog to see menu changes and character changes that are coming with the re-opening process.

About 1900 Park Fare

With 1900 Park Fare being closed for over 4 years, some of you may not be familiar with this restaurant. This restaurant is a traditional buffet (yep you need to go to the buffet and serve yourself) served “all you care to enjoy” character meeting meal. It features a breakfast and a dinner meal option. Many fans rave about their Strawberry Soup served cold. The restaurant is in the main building of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.

Theming

1900 Park Fare has an extraordinarily strong carousel theme complete with candy stripe poles and painted wooden horses. There are so many subtle nods to carousels in the restaurant and hidden features. If you look at the picture, above, you will notice horses on the poles above the sign.

In the main dining room of the restaurant, you will see ‘Big Bertha.” She is an antique organ that has been at home at 1900 Park Fare since the restaurant opened in 1988. Aside from this center focal piece, there are many new pieces of artwork that complement the theme of the restaurant exquisitely.

Character Meeting

1900 Park Fare used to have a unique group of characters different than other character dining options. These were Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, The Mad Hatter, Tigger, and Winnie the Pooh for breakfast. The dinner lineup was Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine, Anastasia, and Drizella.

For better or worse, the characters have changed. Some people are excited about the different characters while other visitors are less than enthusiastic. The featured characters are now Prince Ali Aladdin, Cinderella, Mirabel Madrigal, and Tiana in her new “Bayou Adventure” outfit celebrating the power of a wish. Seems to us that Asha would have been an obvious choice, but we like the new lineup.

Food

1900 Park Fare is anticipated to have a price increase (what has not increased over the past 4 years), but it expected to remain one dining credit on the Disney Dining Plan. We are anticipating $70-80 for an adult for dinner service.

Menu highlights for breakfast include Bread Pudding, Donut Holes, Strawberry Soup (WOOT WOOT), Muffins, Cheese Danishes, Beef and Potato Hash, Eggs Benedict, Carved Ham, Breakfast Pizza, Smoke Salmon, Potato Casserole, and Assorted Fruits, Pastries, and Breads.

Dinner features: Peel and Eat Shrimp, Tiana’s Gumbo, Baked Salmon, Prime Rib, Curry Roasted Chicken, Garlic Sausage, Porchetta (seasoned, stuffed pork loin), Couscous Salad, Focaccia, Masher Potatoes, Green Beans, and Glazed Carrots. There are also featured drinks, and desserts available.

Closing
